A patio should be a joy to use -- a space for outdoor entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying your garden. But when it's covered in slippery green algae, dark lichen staining, and years of embedded dirt, it becomes an eyesore and a safety hazard rather than a feature to be proud of.

Stone Types We Clean
Each patio material requires a different approach. Our team has specialist knowledge of all common patio surfaces used in UK gardens.
Indian Sandstone
One of the most popular patio materials in the UK. Indian sandstone is porous and prone to algae growth but responds beautifully to careful pH-neutral cleaning. We restore its warm, rich tones safely.
Porcelain Tiles
Porcelain is non-porous and relatively low maintenance, but still accumulates surface algae and grime. We use appropriate pressure and pH-neutral cleaners to achieve a brilliant finish without risk of surface damage.
Sandstone
Sandstone patios are softer and more porous than other stone types, so they require careful low-to-medium pressure washing to remove biological growth without causing surface erosion or damage.
Natural Slate
Slate is a beautiful but delicate material that requires specialist care. We use controlled pressure settings and appropriate stone cleaners to safely clean slate surfaces and restore their natural dark, rich colour.
Concrete Slabs
Traditional concrete patio slabs can be cleaned very effectively with high-pressure rotary cleaners, removing years of algae staining and grime to reveal a clean, consistent grey surface.
Timber Decking
Timber decking becomes slippery and grey when algae establishes itself. We use carefully controlled medium-pressure washing combined with specialist wood cleaners to restore the timber colour and remove dangerous growth.

Our Process
Free Assessment & Quote
We visit your property to inspect the patio, identify the stone type and assess its condition. We then provide a written no-obligation quote for the clean and any optional treatments such as sealing.
Pre-Treatment
We apply a biodegradable biological cleaning solution across the entire patio surface. This begins breaking down algae, moss, lichen and organic growth at the root before we start pressure washing -- giving a far more effective result.
Pressure Washing
Using commercial rotary surface cleaners and targeted lances, we wash your patio at precisely the right pressure for your specific stone type. We work methodically across the whole area to ensure an even, consistent clean.
Edge & Joint Cleaning
We detail-clean all perimeter edges, raised borders, steps, and the joints between slabs -- areas where algae and moss tend to accumulate and which make the biggest visual difference when cleaned.
Rinse, Inspect & Optional Sealing
The patio is thoroughly rinsed and inspected with you. If appropriate, we'll recommend a natural stone or patio sealant to protect your investment and keep it cleaner for longer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to pressure wash all types of patio stone?
Yes, provided you use the correct pressure settings and cleaning products for each stone type. Soft stones like Indian sandstone and slate require lower pressures and pH-neutral solutions to avoid surface erosion, whereas concrete slabs and porcelain can handle higher pressures. Our team is trained to identify each surface type and adjust our approach accordingly -- a skill that amateur operators frequently lack.
Will cleaning damage the pointing or grout between my patio slabs?
When carried out correctly, no. We use appropriate pressures that clean the surface and joints without blasting away sound pointing. If the pointing is already loose or damaged, we'll identify this during our assessment and advise you accordingly. We can also re-point patios as an additional service if required.
My patio is covered in green slime -- can you remove it completely?
In the vast majority of cases, yes. Green algae is one of the most satisfying problems to resolve because the transformation is so dramatic. Our biodegradable pre-treatment kills the algae at the root before we pressure wash, ensuring it's genuinely removed rather than simply blasted to the surface temporarily. The results are typically outstanding.
How long should I leave before using my patio after cleaning?
For cleaning only (no sealing), you can usually use the patio again within a few hours -- once the surface has dried. If we apply a sealant, we recommend leaving the patio for 24 hours before foot traffic, and 48 hours before placing heavy furniture back on it. We'll give you specific guidance depending on the sealant product used.
How often should a patio be professionally cleaned?
Most patios benefit from a professional clean every 12-18 months. Patios in shaded areas, or those under trees, may develop algae more quickly and benefit from annual cleaning. Sealed patios generally stay cleaner for longer and may only need professional attention every two years. We'll advise on the best maintenance schedule for your specific situation.
Do you clean decking as well as stone patios?
Yes, we clean timber and composite decking alongside stone patios. Decking can become extremely slippery when algae establishes itself and is a genuine safety hazard -- particularly in damp or shaded gardens. We restore the natural colour and remove biological growth using controlled pressure washing and specialist wood cleaning products.
Should I have my patio sealed after cleaning?
We recommend sealing for most natural stone patios (Indian sandstone, slate, sandstone) as these surfaces are porous and re-colonise with algae much faster without protection. Sealing also enhances the stone's natural colour and makes it far easier to keep clean between professional visits. Porcelain tiles are non-porous and generally don't require sealing.
What Our Patio Cleaning Customers Say
Real reviews from customers across Tamworth and the Midlands.
Patricia Sheldon
Glascote, Tamworth
“I cannot believe the difference -- my patio was absolutely covered in green slime and I was too embarrassed to use it for entertaining. One phone call, a free quote, and within a week the team were here. They were friendly, efficient, and incredibly thorough. Every corner and edge was cleaned, not just the obvious middle sections. The sealing they applied means it'll stay clean so much longer too. My garden looks transformed. Thank you so much -- 5 stars without hesitation.”

Kevin & Alison Bramble
Fazeley
“We had our whole driveway cleaned and the path down the side of the house done at the same time. The team was on time, very professional, and the results are exactly what we hoped for. The side path was particularly bad -- barely passable and very slippery -- and it's now completely clear and safe. Our driveway looks like it did when we moved in eight years ago. Great value for money. We'll be booking them for an annual clean from now on.”

Andrew Perkins

“Had our concrete driveway and front path cleaned -- both were heavily stained with oil and general grime. I'd tried to tackle the oil stains myself with limited success, but the professional treatment made a night and day difference. They explained what they were using and why, which I appreciated. The concrete is now a consistent, clean colour for the first time in years. Excellent communication throughout and a very competitive price. Highly recommended.”
