Matt / Natural Finish
The most subtle option -- a matt sealant protects the surface fully without altering its appearance. The blocks or stone look clean and natural. This is the most popular choice for homeowners who want protection without changing how their driveway looks.
Ideal for: Natural stone patios, traditional block paving, properties with understated aesthetics.
Satin Finish
A mid-point between matt and gloss -- a satin sealant adds a gentle sheen and slightly enhances the colour of the blocks. It gives a freshly-cleaned appearance without the high-gloss look. Popular choice for those who want a modest upgrade in appearance.
Ideal for: Block paving driveways and patios where some colour enhancement is desired.
Gloss / Wet-Look Finish
Our most dramatic option -- a wet-look gloss sealant transforms the appearance of your driveway or patio, giving it a rich, intensely coloured, freshly-washed appearance year-round. Particularly effective on block paving with vibrant block colours. This finish makes a real statement.

Our Process
Clean & Dry the Surface
The surface must be thoroughly cleaned and allowed to dry completely before re-sanding and sealing can begin. We typically clean and seal in one visit (if weather permits) or return on a second visit once the surface is fully dry.
Remove Loose Jointing Sand
Using a specialist blower, we remove all loose, dirty and displaced sand from the joints. This ensures the new kiln-dried sand bonds properly into the joints without contamination.
Apply Kiln-Dried Jointing Sand
Fresh kiln-dried jointing sand is brushed across the entire surface and worked into the joints using stiff brushes. We continue until all joints are filled to the correct depth -- typically 3-5mm below the surface.
Apply First Coat of Sealant
The chosen sealant is applied using a specialist low-pressure sprayer or roller, ensuring even coverage across the entire surface including edges and borders. We use only professional-grade sealants that offer long-lasting protection.
Second Coat & Curing
Once the first coat has flashed off (usually 30-60 minutes), we apply a second coat for maximum protection. The surface is then left to cure -- typically 24 hours for light foot traffic and 48 hours before vehicles are driven on it.

How long does sealant last?
A professionally applied sealant from a quality product range typically lasts 3-5 years under normal residential conditions. Driveways with heavy vehicle traffic may see the sealant wear faster and may need re-applying every 2-3 years. We recommend re-sealing whenever you have a professional clean to maintain maximum protection.
Can you seal my driveway without cleaning it first?
No -- and any contractor who suggests otherwise should be avoided. Sealant must be applied to a clean, dry surface. If applied over dirt, algae, or damp, the sealant will trap these elements beneath the surface, discolour, and peel prematurely. We always clean before sealing, which is why our results are long-lasting.
What is kiln-dried jointing sand and why does it matter?
Kiln-dried jointing sand is a very fine, dry sand that's been dried in a kiln to remove all moisture. This makes it free-flowing so it brushes easily into the joints between blocks and stays in place. Standard sharp sand contains moisture and organic material, which makes it poor for joints. Once the sealant is applied over kiln-dried sand, the joints are effectively locked in place.
Will sealing change the colour of my driveway?
It depends on the finish you choose. A matt sealant will not noticeably change the colour or appearance -- it simply protects the surface. A satin finish adds a subtle sheen and slight colour enhancement. A wet-look gloss finish will significantly intensify the colours of your blocks or stone. We'll show you examples and help you choose the right finish for your property.
My driveway already has a sealant -- can you re-seal it?
Yes, in most cases. We'll assess the existing sealant during our site visit. If it's peeling, flaking, or has gone cloudy ("white haze"), the existing sealant may need to be stripped before a fresh application -- this is an additional step we can quote for. If the existing sealant is simply worn and not yet failed, we can often apply a new coat directly over it.
